About Me

Howdy,

I’m John Swaringen and JCS Development is my brainchild.  I’m a freelance web developer/designer with over 10 years experience developing web sites and web based applications.  I specialize in clean and focused websites that communicate well with end users. I am an expert in the areas of  user interface design, web based applications.

Even though I’ve worked for companies like Wells Fargo Bank, American Airlines, and Verizon; my real passion is working for small and medium-sized businesses and non-profits organizations and bringing the same skills I have used for large clients to them.  So what skills do I have?  I have expertise in (pardon all the alphabet soup, but it does sound impressive):

(X)HTML, CSS, PHP, ASP.NET (C#), ASP, Visual Basic, Photoshop, Fireworks, Dreamweaver, Acrobat, Flash, MySQL, SQL Server, XML, XSLT, IIS, Apache, Team Foundation Server, Subversion, Source Safe, Crystal Reports and yes, FrontPage.

(See I told you it sounded impressive)

I’m a Native Texan, husband to my wonderful wife, and father to the “Proudest member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of 2011″.

The Blog

This blog was launched in May of 2008 with the primary purpose of providing information about web design, search engine optimization (SEO), and general web help for small and medium-sized business owners as well as non-profit agencies.  It’s my goal to distill some of the technical jargon and “geek speak” down for people who need to know this information.  I also hope to have some fun in the process.
